There is Currently No Resident Priest at St Benet’s

At present, Spring 2024, we are without a Parish Priest, as is our nearest neighbour, St Edmund’s in Bungay.

Through the good offices of retired clergy we can maintain the following schedule. However, it is always at risk of change, so please check the posted  weekly Newsletter before travelling.

Mass Times – Sundays

Communion

09:00    St Edmund’s BUNGAY.

11:00    St. Benet’s, Beccles.

There is no evening Mass in either local parish.

Mass Times – Holy Days of ObligationCommunion

11:00     St. Benet’s, Beccles; (usually with pupils from our school).

Saturday Vigil Mass

We do not have a Vigil Mass at St Benet’s or at St Edmund’s at Bungay.   Please visit the Diocesan website http://www.rcdea.org.

Weekday Mass

We try to have Mass in St Benet’s at 11:00 on Friday – if a priest is available, but often our Deacon, Rev Tony Felton has to lead us in a Eucharistic Service.

Times may be altered when weddings, funerals or other special events occur.  Current details can be found in the Newsletter.  Copies are usually available at the back of the church or in the porch, and   it is also posted here on this Web Site.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

Holy Hour is held at certain times during the year as an expression of Eucharistic devotion and an opportunity for parishioners to pray for particular intentions.

The Rosary and Stations of the Cross

The Rosary is usually prayed on Wednesday mornings at 09:30; Stations of the Cross are said at 19:00 on Friday evenings in Lent

ConfessionsReconciliation

Confessions may be heard in St Benet’s by appointment with a priest who is visiting St Benet’s .

Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals

These can be arranged in consultation with the Priest.  Contact the Admin Office or our Deacon in the first instance.
