Foundation Govenor Recruitment

FOUNDATION GOVERNORS (voluntary post)

We are looking to recruit several Foundation Governors to join our Local Governing Body.

Foundation Governors are appointed for a four-year term of office by the Bishop on behalf of the Roman Catholic Diocese of East Anglia. Foundation Governors are practising Roman Catholics.

Foundation Governors are responsible for preserving and developing the Catholic ethos of the school. They operate at a strategic level, holding the Headteacher and Leadership Team to account, overseeing the financial performance of the school, managing the school’s admissions criteria and helping recruit senior leadership.

Each Governor currently attends six full Governor meetings a year.

High quality training is provided.

We are particularly keen to recruit people with knowledge and experience of human resources, finance, management as well as education.

If you are interested to know more, please contact either the Executive Headteacher Mrs Sam Barlow at office.stbenets@cpswv.org or office.stedmunds@cpswv.org .

If you would like to nominate yourself, please email Jane Delph at the Diocese’s Schools’ Service (ssc@rcdea.org.uk) to request an application form. Once you’ve completed the form please pass it to your parish priest who will write a reference and forward the application on to the Diocese’s School Commission for you.

To ensure the governing body is representative of the school community we especially welcome applications from people of Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds and those with disabilities. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Enhanced DBS clearance is required for this post.
