Privacy & Communication

Parish Register and Record Keeping

As part of our Parish Renewal Programme, it was proposed that we contact all parishioners each year.

For example, we might issue a note at Easter and at Christmas, showing the services at these special seasons. Also, if there are young children, the dates of preparation classes for First Holy Communion and/or Confirmation would be important and relevant to you.

To do this, it is obviously essential that the Parish Register contains accurate information.

Correct names and addresses are the first essential, and dates of birth are particularly useful in identifying individuals where 2 or 3 generations, sharing the same name, may still live in Beccles.

Details of the interests of all family members will help ensure we send only relevant information to each home.

Data Protection and Privacy

The Parish – and the Diocese – respect your personal privacy, and most parishioners will understand it is now a legal requirement for us to only gather, keep and use personal information that is relevant to our Parish functions and/or activities.

We must also have your personal permission to contact you about relevant matters, and whether to use post, email, or telephone to do this.

Please  complete the form overleaf, and also ensure you sign it, to ensure we abide by the General Data Processing Regulations (GDPR).

Please tick the relevant boxes if you agree to give your consent to the Parish contacting you for specific purposes.

If you are a holder of any post or office in the Parish, it may also be appropriate for the Diocese to contact you about this.

On completion, please return this form to
