Confirmation

confirmation1Those who are baptised as infants can celebrate the beginnings of their Christian adulthood by receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation at the age of 13 or over.

There is normally a parish programme every third year for any teenager who would like to do this, and we are then visited by our Bishop who celebrates this Sacrament with us, usually but not always during a summer term.

Confirmation – for anyone already baptised and aged thirteen or over – can also be conferred by the Parish Priest and those interested are encouraged to come and see the Parish Priest individually.

There is always a programme of exploration and instruction prior to receiving the Sacrament.  This part of the programme known as the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) and full details can be found by clicking here.
