CONDITIONS OF HIRE
The Hall is part of the freehold property of the Roman Catholic Parish of St Benet’s, Beccles; and is primarily for parish use. Our primary school has use of the hall during term time, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. Use of the Hall outside these hours is at the total discretion of the Parish Priest, with advice from the Parish Pastoral Council.
A charge is not made for the use of the hall for parish or school events, or for use by certain recognised charities.
The parish is prepared to allow limited hire of the hall for parishioners’ private use and for private individuals or organisations unconnected with the parish. A minimum charge of £25.00 is made for the use of the hall, which covers the first 3 hours of hire. A further charge of £7.50 per hour or part of an hour is charged beyond this period. Alternative terms may be agreed with regular users. Note that these charges are reviewed on an annual basis.
THE HALL DOES NOT HAVE A PUBLIC ENTERTAINMENTS LICENCE
OR A LICENCE FOR THE SALE OF INTOXICATING LIQUOR.
The parish can accept no responsibility for security and/or safety of persons or property whilst using the premises.
Hirers are responsible for the safety of everyone using the hall during their hire. They must familiarize themselves with the Fire Action Notices on display and the location of fire exits, fire extinguishers and the Assembly Point. All fire exits must be kept clear and unlocked during an event. Equipment brought in must be safe and in good condition and placed so as not to cause a trip hazard. Hirers must ensure that all doors are securely locked on leaving; keys will be provided.
Basic equipment, toilets and washing up facilities are available to the hirer but the piano, the kitchen, and the kitchen equipment, are S.C.C. Education Dept. property and are not available for use.
Heating is by arrangement with the Headteacher, and an additional charge may be made. Similarly, access to and parking within the school grounds is not permitted unless pre-arranged with the Head Teacher.
All equipment must be returned to its place of storage and the hall left in a clean and tidy condition. Any breakages must be replaced with new, of at least equal quality, or equivalent financial compensation must be made.
