ST BENET’S PARISH HALL
ST MARY’S ROAD, BECCLES, SUFFOLK
The Hall is part of the freehold property of the Roman Catholic Parish of St Benet’s, Beccles; and is primarily for parish use. Our primary school has use of the hall during term time, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
The parish is prepared to allow limited hire of the hall for parishioners’ private use and also for private individuals or organisations unconnected with the parish. All hire is at the total discretion of the Parish Priest following advice from the Parish Pastoral Council.
THE HALL DOES NOT HAVE A PUBLIC ENTERTAINMENTS LICENCE OR A
The parish can accept no responsibility for security and/or safety of persons or property whilst using the premises. Basic equipment, toilets and washing up facilities are available to the hirer but the school canteen, equipment and the piano being the property of Suffolk County Council Education Department are not available for use. Heating, for which an additional charge may be made, is by arrangement with the Head teacher.
Similarly, access to and parking within the school grounds is not permitted unless prearranged with the school authorities.
All equipment must be returned to its place of storage and the hall left in a clean and tidy condition on completion of hire.
The Fire Escape doors must be kept unlocked and accessible at all times the Hall is in use.
The porch door must be left unlocked at all times during use and locked on completion of hire.
Hirers are asked to ensure that this is the situation when they leave; keys will be provided for all necessary locks.
A charge is not made for the use of the hall by the school or for parish events or, at the Parish Priest’s discretion, for use by certain recognised charities.
For all other hire a minimum charge of £25.00 is made for the use of the hall; the charge covers the first 3 hours of hire. A further charge of £7.50 per hour or part of an hour is charged beyond this period. Alternative terms may be agreed with regular users.
It is anticipated that any broken crockery or other items will be replaced with new, of at least equal quality, or equivalent financial compensation be offered.
Applications for hire of the hall should be made in writing using the form provided and sent, together with any payment, at least two weeks in advance to : –
